Fishermen's Trail (Porto Covo - Odeceixe)

1st day:

Arrival

Day of arrival in Lisbon, a short visit to the city of Lisbon as some characteristic monuments of the city (Jerónimos Monastery, Torre de Belém) or Alfama (National Pantheon, Miradouro da Graça, Miradouro Nossa Senhora do Monte). After the transport to Porto Covo, where you will spend your first night, you can enjoy a little of the Village of Porto Covo. In Porto Covo there will also be a brewing with a representative of Zambujeira Adventures that will give you all the necessary documentation to carry out your adventure on the Costa Vicentina in a safe and special way.

2nd day:

Pedestrian Route 1: Porto Covo - Vila Nova de Milfontes (20km / 12 mi)

At this stage you will walk along several beaches such as the Ilha do Pessegueiro, Aivados, Malhão among other beaches lost along the long sandy beaches through which you will pass. This is a very tiring course due to its size and the type of flooring that is sand. This course is wonderful because of the way the small beaches are inserted, protected by ancient cliffs where small cliffs and islets are formed. When you arrive at Vila Nova de Milfontes you can enjoy something to eat at some of the restaurants that exist in the village and also visit the Fort Clement and stroll along the banks of the Mira River.

3rd day:

Pedestrian Route 2: Vila Nova de Milfontes - Almograve (15 km / 9 mi)

On the third day you will be able to enjoy fantastic views of the Mira River and Vila Nova de Milfontes, where you will be able to see the meeting of the Mira River with the Atlantic Ocean. This will be a short route where you can enjoy to enjoy the fauna and flora existing on the site, still identify places for artisanal fishing and also some vestiges of the man in the Stone Age. When you arrive at the Almograve you will be able to visit the small village where you can have something to eat in some of the local restaurants and also enjoy to know some of the architecture of the village and maybe know some of the places.

4th day:

Pedestrian Route 3: Almograve - Zambujeira do Mar (22 km / 13 mi)

Along this stage you will find small beaches on one side and beautiful dunes on the other, you can also visit the handcrafted fishing huts where you will pass and still watch a unique spectacle in the world of the storks that nest in the cliffs thus making your adventure still more exciting. Along this coast you will find several types of rock where you can identify places where the sea waves sculpted and transformed all the rocks is something quite interesting to observe. Arriving at Zambujeira do Mar you can eat at the many restaurants in the village and then visit the chapel Nossa Senhora do Mar and enjoy the magnificent view over the beautiful beach of Zambujeira do Mar.

5th day:

Free day

On this day you can rest at ease and enjoy the magnificent beaches that Zambujeira do Mar contemplates. This is a free day where you can relax from all the hike that has been done so far and enjoy a little of the day to day activities of the village.

6th day:

Pedestrian Route 4: Zambujeira do Mar - Odeceixe (18 km / 11 mi)

At this stage you will pass beaches like Alteirinhos, Carvalhal, Machados and Amália where you can see all the beauty of this region are unique beaches with beautiful cliffs. Possibly you will find burrows and footprints of animals that live there. In this way you will also get to know the Azenha do Mar village is a small fishing village where you can visit a small fishing port, then to finish all your adventure you will enjoy a breathtaking view over the beach of Odeceixe where you will see Ribeira do Seixe to drain into the Atlantic Ocean.

7th day:

Return

This will be the day when the transportation will be made for the return to Lisbon or Faro or Santa Clara / Sabóia Station with access to Lisbon and Algarve.
